True Love

here’s one specifically for Valentine’s Day, for Starlight Dances:

When you walk into a room, my head turns
to watch as you approach; I never grow
tired of seeing your face, and I know
each one of your expressions. My heart burns

with fire for your touch, my ear yearns to hear
your voice, my hand seems empty without yours
in it. Our love grows each day, and endures
all troubles, finding joy year after year.

I could compare you to a summer’s day,
but you are more than one small set of hours;
in your eyes, I see the span of all time.

All the moments we spend along the way
are beautiful and fragrant as flowers,
and the wonder of this world, most sublime.
